Four young Malaysian directors pool their talents for this "admirably philosophical" (Indiewire) horror anthology set during the Chinese Hungry Ghosts Festival in cosmopolitan Kuala Lumpur. Low Ngai Yuen's "1413" is a tale of teenage suicide gone awry. In "Waiting for Them," James Lee (The Beautiful Washing Machine) follows the misadventures of two friends who let a bona fide ghost come between them. "Nodding Scoop" by Ng Tian Hann concerns a filmmaker who shoots a bizarre ritual in which the participants call forth a spirit with knowledge of the future. Lastly, "Anybody Home" by Yuhang Ho is a story of deadly obsession. Cantonese and Malaysian with English subtitles. 110 minutes.
