A lonely, middle-aged woman's newfound love threatens to destroy her unstable family in this award-winning film. Berta has devoted her life to caring for her deceased sister's children, all of whom are involved in various illegal activities. When she meets Eduardo, an equally distraught police inspector, they fall madly in love. Their affair becomes complicated, though, when Eduardo begins investigating a case involving Berta's family.
