"The Red Squirrel"
1993
Directed by Julio Medem

Jota, a rock musician deserted by his girlfriend, is standing on a bridge, contemplating suicide when he sees a motorcycle crash and rushes to the aid of a young woman. When he discovers she has lost her memory as a result of the accident, he pretends to be her lover and creates a fictitious life for her. The Daily Telegraph called this modern-day version of Alfred Hitchcock's masterpiece, Vertigo, "as taut and intricate as anything by Hitchcock." Winner of Director's Fortnight at Cannes and Best Young Picture at European Felix Awards. Spanish with English subtitles.
104 minutes.
