"La Memoria del Agua"
1991
Directed by Hector Faver
This Spanish/Russian
co-production is the story of Joseph Fruferman, who, during the last moments of his life,
remembers his childhood in Russia and his adult life in France. Interspliced with
documentary footage and narrative, the images of his mother, late wife and daughter frame
these poignant memories in a haunting black-and-white film. Just as water retains its
memory even after its molecules separate, the film illustrates the endurance and power of
love. Spanish and Russian dialog with English subtitles.
82 minutes. |
