filming his daughter Anna over the course of 13 years, director Nikita
Mikhalkov (Burnt by the Sun) incorporated that footage with news
reports and propaganda films that charted the collapse of the Soviet
Union. The result is this intimate, emotionally charged documentary that
shows how personal and political life are forever intertwined. "Mikhalkov
