This first film of the famous Wajda trilogy is also Wajda's first feature film. Set in occupied Warsaw in 1942, we follow the pursuits of a young man whose life is hardened under the Nazis. When he falls in love with the leader of the Resistance group, he learns to fight back. Stars Tadeusz Lomnicki, Ursula Modrzynska, Zbigniew Cybulski and a very young Roman Polanski. Polish with English subtitles.  85 minutes.
