"Ojos Que No Ven"
2003
Directed by Francisco J. Lombardi
Francisco Lombardi's sweeping film ties together the
distinct yet intertwined lives of six Peruvians in a series of dramatic and
comedic vignettes. Set during the real-life 1990's "Vladvideos" scandal (in
which presidential advisor Vladimiro Montesinos's illegal behavior led to
the downfall of President Alberto Fujimori), the film swings between an
examination of the personal lives of upper, middle, and lower-class
Peruvians, and a more over-arching commentary with universal and historical
significance. Spanish WITHOUT English subtitles. 149 minutes. |
