Alfonso Arau directs this comedy based on the Nikolai Gogol play, The Inspector, and the Mexican comic strip, The Super Machos. When a stranger arrives in a small town, everyone mistakes him for a federal inspector whom they have been waiting for to improve the town. They make a hero out of the unsuspecting man, but the government has other ideas. Winner of two Ariel Awards. Stars Alfonso Arau, Pancho Cordova, and Carmen Salinas.
