"Acacia"
2003
Directed by Ki-Hyung Park
The
acacia tree in Ki-Hyung Park's languidly paced, atmospheric horror film
serves as a kind of oracle that warns of impending terrors. As it blooms,
the happy lives of Do-il, Mi-Suk, and their adopted child Jin-seong fall
prey to a series of gruesome "accidents". Beautifully photographed and
eerily paced, Park's film is a masterful piece of South Korean horror.
Korean with English subtitles. 102
