"Rorret"
1987
Directed by Fulvio Wetzl
An Italian
reconsideration of Michael Powell's classic Peeping Tom and several Hitchcock
thrillers, this film concerns the shy, anonymous owner of a repertory theater expressly
devoted to thrillers and horror movies. Mr. Rorret lives behind the movie screen,
documenting the responses of the women watching the films, and begins to stalk them. The
film beautifully recreates moments from Hitchcock's Psycho, Dial M for Murder,
and Strangers on a Train. "Good, creepy fun" (New York Post).
105 minutes.
