Directed by Yaron Zilberman
More than six decades after being forced into exile,
surviving swimmers from the legendary Vienna sports club Hakoah gather to
tell their remarkable stories in Yaron Zilberman's uplifting documentary.
Founded in 1909 as one of the only Austrian sports clubs friendly to Jews,
Hakoah quickly gained recognition for its premiere women's swim team, which
dominated national competitions in the 1930's. Using historical footage and
contemporary interviews with surviving swimmers, Zilberman weaves a
triumphant story of friendship, survival, and courage in the face of
unthinkable odds. English, Hebrew, and German with English subtitles.
