"Billiards
Festival"
1975
Directed by
Boaz Davidson
An early film from
director Boaz Davidson (The Last American Virgin) filmed in his
native Israel. Two con men, Gavriel and Hanuka (hilariously played by
comedians Yehuda Barkan and Zev Revah), have a bad habit of swindling
people at billiards. When their antics get into trouble with the Mafia,
they are forced to contact Gavriel's religious twin brother, Avriel (also
played by Barkan). A funny look at the clash between religious and secular
cultures in Israel. Also known as Hagiga B'Snuker. Hebrew with
English subtitles.
