"Night and Day"
("Nuit et Jour")
1991
Directed by Chantal Akerman

Chantal Akerman's daring film  about sexual independence concerns one woman's simultaneous relationships with two men. Set over a sweltering Paris summer, the story follows Julie (Guilaine Londez), a beautiful young woman who is involved in a passionate relationship with Jack (Thomas Langmann). Completely isolated from the outside world, with no friends or intimates, they engage in marathon bouts of sex. At night, Jack drives a taxi to support them while Julie walks the Paris streets. Julie is inexorably drawn to Joseph (Francois Negret), a solitary young man who drives Jack's cab during the day. French with English subtitles.
90 minutes.
