The earthy comedy to end all earthy comedies; a young wife leaves her husband for a handsome young shepherd--but tragedy of all French tragedies--she happens to be the baker's wife. The baker, too heartsick to bake, throws the town into panic. And the townspeople organize to cajole, lure, or force the young lady in question away from her lover and back to her husband--so they can get back to their bread. French with English subtitles.  101 minutes.
