delivers an extraordinary performance in this drama about a lesbian woman
desperate to escape persecution in her native Iran. After procuring a fake
visa and passport, she travels to Germany, where she pleads for political
asylum. When her petition is shot down, she assumes the identity of a
young man, and becomes close friends with a single mother (Anneke Kim
