Andy and his little sister Sammy live in a small town in western Australia. When their mother dies, Andy fears he and Sammy might be separated. He resolves to take Sammy to their grandparents in England but in order to get to the boatyards in Perth, they must make a dangerous, secret journey through the wilds of the Australian outback.
